About Jol
I am an Edmonton-based Graphic Designer & Artist who specializes in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. With a flair for expressionism, I love to integrate my outspoken nature and emotions into the core of my designs.
My philosophy
I take my unrelenting energy to any task that I'm given to complete it to the best of my abilities and continue to improve my skills in the process.
Besides Graphic Design I take an interest in photography, clothing and 3D modelling. I have been learning how to take stock photos for design use and 3D print the models that I have modeled in Blender 4.0. Recently I have created my own screen printing studio and am able to produce one colour prints effectively using plastisol ink!
When I'm not designing I love to spend my extra time building interesting things out of wood. A recent project I've completed is a 7-foot-tall intricate cat tree. It rises to the top of the ceilings in my condo and my two cats; Walter and Trippie, love it to death.
My principles are founded on Transparency, Excellence and High Standard performances, with the constant desire to evolve personally.
Transparency
Transparent communication is the act of both good and bad information being shared upward, downward, and laterally in a way that allows all to see the why behind the words. Benefits of transparent communication: Increases collaboration.
Excellence
Excellence means to be consistent in good character, attitude, quality and standards. It means to be unapologetically exceptional. Being a person of excellence is a continuous process. There is a difference between being a perfectionist and being a person of excellence.
High standard
performances
Achieving exceptional levels of productivity, effectiveness, and success in a particular field while maintaining overall well-being. It involves consistently performing at a level that exceeds the average or expected performance standards.
I have competed in the Skills Canada Provincial competition for several year in secondary, as well as competing for NAIT in post secondary, achieving silver. I was also a PTC member and helped judge for the 2025 competition. All for the graphic design category.
